The Lake Erie Scouts had their annual Daffin’s fundraiser to raise money for operational expenses for the 2022 baseball program. This year, 47 baseball families sold over $10,000 of Daffin’s chocolates. With their hard work and love of chocolate, we were able to raise over $5000 for all the baseball programs.

The Lake Erie Scouts Baseball Club is made up of four teams at four different age groups. All four teams have announced their 2022 season schedule.

The 12U baseball club has ten tournaments scheduled highlighted by trips to Xenia OH, Punxsutawney, and Dubois, PA. This challenging schedule features tournaments with high school baseball rules and also Little League baseball rules. The 2022 12U team will open up their season in Valley View, OH in April with an indoor tournament. After trips to Tallmadge and Xenia, OH in the spring, the Scouts team will stay in PA for the rest of their remaining schedule. The 12U team will finish their season in August at the Millcreek Summer Sizzler at the Walnut Creek complex here in Erie, PA.

The 10U squad will travel to Tallmadge, OH to start their season and will play in six other tournaments throughout the 2022 campaign.

The 9U program will start their season in May at the French Creek Valley Classic in Union City, PA, and they will follow that tournament up with the wooden bat Saegertown Slugfest. Currently, they have five tournaments scheduled and will finish their season with the Back-to-School Bash held in Millcreek, PA.

Our coach pitch 8U program has a robust schedule of seven tournaments with trips to Franklin, Meadville, and Dubois, PA.

Today we played for something bigger than wins and losses, batting averages, and seeding. None of those things mattered to us. What mattered to us was fighting. Fighting for those who are fighting bigger battles. Today we fought for Katrina Vincent and her fight against breast cancer. We wished she could have been there with us today and know she would have been screaming her head off supporting the boys she loves, but we hope our gesture of support back will give her the wind in her sails to kick cancers butt. Just like our two wins today we have complete faith Katrina will win against cancer!

Thank you to Mike Hermann for putting this all together and should get all the credit.
